Merry Christmas

I hope that everyone is having a great Christmas. I sure am. We went over to Aunt Julie and Uncle Aaron's house last night and celebrated with daddy's family. I got these cool Mega Blocks and some construction blocks too. I also helped everyone else open their presents. My cousin Jordan got some pretty cool toys and he let me play with them. I woke up this morning and there was a cool fire truck in the middle of our living room. Mommy said that Santa brought it for me. That must mean that I was very good this year!

We also got to open presents from mommy & daddy and from mama & papa, too. I got lots of books and movies and some clothes. Papa got me this cool tool box, filled with tools. I think he thought I needed better tools from when I was working on the garage this summer. Daddy built a special shelf in his garage for my tools. As soon as it gets warmer out, I will help daddy build stuff!
Oh yeah, my new sister, Taryn had a good Christmas, too. She got some clothes, a pack-n-play, and money. I think I got better stuff, but mommy said all girls like clothes and money. Here are some pictures of her. She still doesn't do anything exciting, but she is still pretty cute.

Merry Christmas!
PS - My aunt Heather is coming tomorrow & I am very excited.

Blogging from Bismarck

Since my mommy and new baby sister need lots of rest right now, mommy & daddy said I could go stay with my mama & papa Nodland for a week. It sure is fun here.

Here I am with my own special keyboard that is only for me. I sure like to type on this keyboard. I can practice my counting on it, too. Oh, can you tell that mommy forgot to pack my comb?

I am getting more comfortable with the puppies up here, too. I like to hug them, tackle them, and run around with them. The one thing I will not do is scratch their bellies. When they roll over to show me their bellies, I say "ewww".

Another thing I like about being up here in Bismarck, is the accommodations. They have a little chair just my size and a big tv like I have back home. Plus papa and mama let me watch what I want way more than mommy and daddy do. Plus they have lots of snacks, cookies, crackers, pudding - I am always helping myself to a delicious snack.

I am also helping my papa get in the Christmas spirit. Don't you think we make a good team? Me with the hat and him with his beard. I think this is going to be a fun week. I wonder how many of my Christmas presents I will get early :)

My mom sent some new pictures of my sister, Taryn. Mommy said she was awake alot today.

Well I better get back to hanging out with my papa. Daddy's football team is playing tonight and I gotta make sure my papa cheers with me. Go Redskins !

Baby Taryn & Mommy are home

My mommy and new little sister came home today. I was very excited to see my mommy, I gave her lots of hugs and then we danced a little bit. This new baby seems to be ok, too. I heard that baby's cry a lot, but she doesn't cry that much yet. Mommy said that she is saving it all for tonight.

My mommy wanted me to thank Aunt Heather for keeping everyone updated on our new baby. She sure is nice to help mommy out like that.

Of course she's cute - she's related to me!

I heard mommy on the phone with aunt H and they were wondering if Taryn looked like me when I was a tiny baby (and not a big, tough boy, like I am now). Aunt H, being so smart, went back and looked at my first photos and thought it would be fun to compare. I think our good looks are strikingly similar! What do you think?

(If you click on it, it will open it in a bigger window)

More Pictures!

Here are some more pictures of Taryn that my Mama took today.

She already has long, pretty hair!

I heard some people saying she has daddy's eyes.....

It looks like we're gonna have to share the spot as Papa's best buddy now! He's already wrapped around Taryn's tiny finger too!

Meet Taryn...

Me and Papa at the hospital. I am a BIG brother - and one with a split lip from my fall at daycare today! (Thanks, Papa and Mama, for the cool new shirt!)

She even got a cool christmas hat!  I guess maybe she wasn't quite as big as mommy was thinking - her clothes are kinda loose!

Isn't she cute? Look at those chubby cheeks! She was very sleepy today - I hope she gets some rest tonight so we can start playing tomorrow! I've got lots to teach her.........

New Sister!!!!

She's here!

Taryn Rae Koehn
1:55 p.m.
8 lbs. 15.5 oz.

My new sister and my mommy are doing well! I'll put up pictures as soon as my Mama Rita can get them on the computer......

If you want to send an e-card, you can do it here:

The hospital picture should be up tomorrow.

Now I gotta go meet my new sister! :)

Stay Tuned!

Hey everyone! Mommy asked me to call my aunt H and have her type a post for me - Mommy can't type one right now because she is on her way to the hospital to have the new baby! I gave her a call and because she is so smart (and pretty), aunt H knew that when I only said "Hi, Bye" this is what I wanted her to write. (Though knowing aunt H, she'll probably take a few creative liberties when she types it anyhow).

I'm going to have a sleepover with my friend tonight while Mommy goes in to get that baby out. This new baby is already a lot like me - really big and not wanting to come out on time - so I think I'm gonna like her!

So check this blog tomorrow (hopefully by then....) and I'll let you know what happens!

(Sorry the picture is old - it was all I had! - Heather)

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I had lots of fun, unfortunately mommy didn't get many pictures, so I will have to tell you about it.
On Thursday, we went over to my Aunt Julie & Uncle Aaron's house. I got to play with my cousins and see my papa Jim and Uncle Jay & Aunt Chris. I also got to see my second cousin Tanner. He sure is getting big. He must have liked me, because he kept wanting to be my friend. I tried to play with him, but everyone kept telling me to be nice & gentle. I don't know why, I play with the babies at my daycare all the time. After lunch, mommy, daddy and my aunts and uncles were in a Guitar Hero III contest, so I just watched them. Mommy was crabby because her and daddy were first up and she knew she couldn't beat him. My aunt Julie won the whole contest, she even beat my daddy. Way to go, Aunt Julie!

After that, we went to my daddy's aunts house to see his cousins. They have a lot of kids too. I had fun making new friends, but since I didn't take a nap that day, we couldn't stay long - they said I was getting crabby. But when we got home, there was a surprise, my Papa & Mama Nodland were at my house, with thier puppies. I was so excited.

On Friday, my daddy got up early to go shopping, but the rest of us stayed at home and enjoyed some sleep. Then later, daddy went to work, mommy & mama went shopping and I stayed home with papa. When mommy and mama came back home, they had lots of bags. Mommy said she found some good deals and is almost done with her Christmas shopping. Grandma had lots of bags too, but they mostly had pink & purple outfits in them. I know that mommy went to the doctor on Wed and they looked at the baby to see if it was getting too big. Mommy didn't tell me anything yet, but since I am a smart kid, I think the baby is going to be a girl. Otherwise my daddy will be kinda mad, if they try to put those dresses on a boy.

On Saturday, we stayed home most of the day and played. Mommy & mama did some more shopping, but us guys stayed at home to watch some football. I was showing papa that I have got some good drumming skills too.

Mama, papa & those crazy puppies left this morning, but they said they would be back as soon as mommy has that baby. I hope it is soon (& I think mommy hopes that too)

That's all I know for now. Have a good week!

Underwhere?

My mommy got some clothes for me from a friend this weekend. Most of the clothes were too big, but there was a bunch of little boy underwear in with the clothes. After my nap, she showed them to me. At first I said "No" and wanted to nothing to do with them; but after a while I found them again and said " Mommy. . . .hat" and decided that these would look good on my head. I wore my new hat all night long.

I think it looks good.

Big Boy - Step 2

So my mommy, daddy and my babysitter made such a big deal yesterday, about what I did, that I was pressured into writing about it. Yesterday, I went potty in the potty chair 2 times at day care. It was pretty exciting.

Mommy tried to get me to go potty at home, but I didn't have to go. She let me read some books when I was sitting there. I see why daddy likes to read in the bathroom, it is quiet and has good lighting.

PS - I did not let mommy take any pictures, so you will just have to use your imagination.

Big Boy Bed

Yesterday I went to go play with my friend Gracie. Her mommy said that I could come over so that mommy & daddy could get some work done around the house. I always thought I was a good helper . . . Anyway, when I got home, I went into my room and found a new bed. Apparently they are going to give my crib to the baby, but that is ok because my new bed had SpongeBob bedding.

Mommy was worried that I wouldn't like my new bed or that I would not want to go to bed in it. But last night, she let me watch cartoons in my room and when she came in to turn off the TV and tell me good night, I said "nite-nite mommy" and when to sleep right away.

Parents . . . they worry too much.

Oh, yeah - I also heard her talking to daddy about me going potty in the potty chair. I say, let's take this "big boy" thing - one day at a time

Guitar Hero (in training)

My mommy bought a new game this weekend. I think it is pretty cool. It is Guitar Hero III. Aunt Heather introduced daddy to this game this summer when she came to visit. They sure had fun. Mommy was not very good, though. She said that they booed her off of the stage. I found the guitars when I got up on Saturday morning, and they looked fun. I like to count the buttons and pretend to play. I sit in the chair next to daddy's when he plays and pretend that I am as good as he is. I don't know what mommy was complaining about, it doesn't look that hard. Oh well, I better get practicing, I overheard mommy talking to Aunt Heather and it sounds like her and Uncle Sam will be here for Thanksgiving, and I want to show them that I am better than mommy.

Rock on !

Halloween Fun ?

So I am starting to wonder what the big deal is about this holiday. My mom bought be this monkey costume that I did not like. When she tried to make me try it on, I let her know that I did not want it on (she may say I threw a fit, but I had to get my point across). So she returned it to the store and bought me this jack 0'lantern shirt instead.

Then tonight, we didn't go out to see anybody else, because mommy said that everybody that we would go see, would be coming to our house. I got bored waiting for people to show up, so I relaxed a bit and enjoyed some of the candy that mommy bought.

Happy Halloween !

Fun with Papa & Mama

My Papa & Mama Nodland came to visit this weekend. I think Papa wanted to check out my progress on the garage.

I tried to help Daddy & Papa when they were building Daddy's new tool chest, but I think playing bubbles with Mama was more fun.

Then I wanted to go with Mommy when she went inside for a tool for Daddy, but she said "no" That made me very sad and I started to cry. Mama must have thought I was cute because she got out her camera, I asked her nicely "No, Cheese" but she didn't listen.

When I took a nap, Mommy & Mama when shopping. They came home with some fun toys. Mama bought me a Diego Rescue pack. It is pretty cool. Mama & Papa also gave me some puppy & kitty magnets for the fridge. I can't decide where they look better, the fridge or the dishwasher. I was even moving them around this morning. I think I will leave some on each one.

I sure had fun with Mama & Papa this weekend, and even those crazy puppies. I was busy counting them all weekend . . 2,9,2,9 puppies. Mommy tried to get a picture of me with the puppies, but they were always moving.

Thanks for visiting, I sure had fun. Hopefully I will get to see you one more time before I have to share you with my new baby.

Fun with my cousins

This is my second cousin, Tanner. He sure is cute. They came to visit on Saturday, along with my aunt & uncle Julie and Aaron, thier kids, my uncle Jay, & my papa Jim. Tanner was a very cute and happy baby. I tried to tickle him , but he didn't think it was as funny as I do when mommy tickles me. I liked giving him hugs, it was good practice for when my new baby comes.

PS-as you can see I have the same problem with cameras as my aunt Heather.

Road Trip

On Monday, my daycare was closed, and since Daddy was still hunting, Mommy decided that we should get out of town for the day. Luckily my mom is friends with my girlfriend Gracie's mom, so we all went to Sioux Falls together. I heard something about a trip to the zoo, but the rain must have changed our mom's mind, because we didn't go see any animals. We went to the mall and got to ride in these cool firetruck strollers.

Then we stopped by the riding toys in the mall. I rode in a car and a helicopter. Grace liked the Bob the Builder truck.

After lunch at the Olive Garden, (I don't know what the big deal is, but our mommy's sure like it) we went to one last store. Mommy wanted to look at Once Upon a Child for some stuff for me and the new baby, but I had other ideas. That place sure is fun to run around in. After Gracie and her mom were done shopping, mommy sent me to the van with them and she went back in. She came out with a swing for the baby.

Grace brought her Dora the Mermaid movie along to watch on the way back. She must have seen it already, because she fell asleep right away. I thought it was pretty exciting, but after a while I fell asleep too. Maybe she will invite me over sometime, so I can see how it ends.

Counting

I have to give my mom an "A" for effort. She has been trying to teach me to count. She tries to keep it simple, and stick with 1-5. I take it 1 step simpler and stick with 2 & 9. Yesterday when I was coloring, there was a page of sports balls. I decided to count these for my mom, and she caught it on video. I think I did a good job, I even counted them more than once, to make sure I got all of them.

Working Out

I overheard mommy & daddy saying that the baby doctor thinks this new baby is going to be pretty big. So I got to thinking, that if I am going to be any kind of big brother, I gotta build up my muscles to help carry the baby. Good thing that daddy just bought a workout machine. While he was working on the garage, I snuck downstairs and tried it out. I think it is a little too big for me.

Computer Time

I don't have much to write about tonight, but I thought I would comment on how excited we are to see everyone's blogs. I just wanted to add this picture of me and Aunt Heather. This summer she showed me how to use the computer. Well, she worked on her laptop, and I worked on my "laughtop" that Grandma bought me for my birthday.
Thanks for the fun gift Grandma, I use it everyday (when I am not using Papa's tools)

Do I gotta do everything?

As some of you, may or may not know, Mommy & Daddy are having a garage built. I think that it has taken a lot longer than it should. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I dug through my toys and found some tools that Papa Nodland has given me. I went outside and found some things that I could help with. Mommy took some pictures to show you how much I was needed. I made sure there was plenty of room for my trike and that Power Wheels that Aunt H is going to get me next summer.
